Carrie Gour

After five years studying English at University of Alberta, Carrie began her career in film and television in 1992, entering the industry as a scenic painter. After six successful years working on commercial, television and feature film sets as a props builder and set decorator, Carrie spent four years working as a script supervisor before becoming the Director of Development at Anaid Productions Inc., an independent film and television company based in Edmonton, Alberta. In her time at Anaid, Carrie developed numerous half hour and hour long drama series, as well as the company’s first television movies and feature films. In addition she created and/or developed nearly 50 documentary and dramatic series as well. The most successful of these is The Family Restaurant, which began airing on the Food Network in October, 2005 to rave reviews, and in spring 2008 will be go into production on season III.

Once “Punctum Pictures” was incorporated in August, 2005, Carrie developed the 6-part series Hank Williams First Nation, the series, based on the movie of the same name for APTN. She continues to work as a story editor and consult regularly with independent writers and producers in the region. In October, 2005, she and Michael Jorgensen merged companies to form “Myth Merchant Films Inc.”

Currently Carrie is executive producer on the $1 million documentary Dinosaur Resurrection for the Discovery family of Networks (Canada, USA, International) and Arte France to be aired in the fall of 2008; producer on the 20-minute docu-drama for the world UNESCO Heritage site Head Smashed-In Buffalo Jump Museum and Interpretative Centre called In Search of the Buffalo released in June 2008; and producer on the one hour Discovery Channel special on the Mad Trapper called Arctic Exhumation, with an expected air date of September, 2008. Currently she is in production on the one hour special, Hitler’s Stealth Fighter.”
